Zuo Tengjia holds a Bachelor's degree from Fuzhou University in industrial design, a Master's degree from Jiangnan University in Design Science, and a PhD degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research focus includes Mixed Reality (MR), serious games, game-based learning, children's HCI, player experience, and game mechanics. Her passion drives her to apply her UX and game design expertise to game development technologies and research. Her award-winning MR game works have been exhibited at international events such as Dutch Design Week, the Nights of Nerds, and IFIP ICEC. Her previous teaching experience mainly includes teaching courses in art and design projects, AI model training, serious games, and Mixed Reality.
She believes that research is the best way to inspire and validate design. In recent years, she has published multiple articles in core publications like CHI Play, Entertainment Computing, CHI, ICEC, and more. She is a member of the working group IFIP TC14 WG7 (Aesthetics and Empowerment) and has served as a reviewer for several leading journals and conferences in the field, including C&E, IJHCI, EC, ILE, and ACM CHI, and more.
