Ze Gao is an interdisciplinary artist, curator. working with physical and digital media, interested in the intersection of art and technology. He currently living and working in Guang Zhou and Hong Kong.
He studied Multidisciplinary Fine Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art and received his M.F.A from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He teaches as an Assistant Professor of Interaction and Media Design. Now he is pursuing his Ph.D. Degree in Computational Media and Arts at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong. With a background in both image science and art, his research spans across different practices and interests, including artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and extended reality. He has several publications, mainly in the areas of New Media Art, and HCI.
Mr. Gao’s works have been showcased in many exhibitions in the United States, Europe, and China. A select sampling of his exhibitions includes the following: In August 2013, he participated in a group show in France, which was held at the Rennes Franco-American Institute; in January 2013, the Rochester Art Center Gallery in New York hosted a solo exhibition of his work; and in 2019, his artwork "Water & Color" was displayed at" "Out of focus/Ambiguë" International Art Exhibition in Paris at Vanities Gallery. He was also admitted into the Professional Teaching Materials for Students of Photography in Higher Education Institutions in China. Prestigious honor for Chinese artists.
